Lilypie Baby Days

It's been a rough week, filled with nausea and exhaustion. I'm finally back on the iron pills after about a week off of them due to stomach problems. I'm hoping to feel more energy as the iron kicks in, and I'm hoping my guts hold up to the pills, as they can be rough sometimes. The most aggravating part is not knowing exactly what is making me feel so bad.

Birthing classes start tomorrow night. Should be interesting. Then Saturday I take another class, I forget which one. Sunday I'm hoping to attend a prenatal yoga class. Next Thursday I have a check-up, which will include another blood test for my iron levels. The following Saturday some friends are having a shower for me/us. So, there's a lot coming up, again I hope that the exhaustion becomes a thing of the past very soon or I'm going to have trouble functioning. Also, I got a stern but vague warning from the nurse that my iron must be better next time or all kinds of complicated things will happen. Yay.

It absolutely is scary, and I'm a real chicken-sh*t. I am still amazed sometimes that I let myself get into this state.

However, it's also pretty cool sometimes, like when the baby is rattling around in there and I'm trying to figure out whether the little part sticking out of my belly is a knee or a butt. Or when I start imagining what this whole new person who wasn't there before is going to look like. Or when my husband gets all glowy and slightly teary talking about our daughter. That's some cool stuff.

As for the scary stuff, I try not to let my hyperactive imagination get ahead of me. One step at a time, that's the way to take these things. The hormones kick in and make it a little easier, believe it or not. I definitely think I'm less panic-prone now than I was before I got pregnant. I am immensely grateful for that!
