It's the fourth month of the year, and for at least the fourth time I am sick. (Honestly, I've lost count.) At least two colds, the flu, the stomach flu, and now, starting yesterday just after lunch, this horrible thing that felt like all of them rolled together. Thanks to Tylenol and a lot of sleep, I'm feeling a bit better, but everything tastes funny and my head still hurts.

Ordinarily I get sick about once a year, so this is extremely unusual. I guess it's all part of being a parent, though.

Maggie's congested and sleepy, but otherwise seems fine. Her Daddy took her to Gymboree today, so I could convalesce and feel sorry for myself.

You want I should send some chicken soup and vitamins?

Maybe a gas mask?

I'll be making chicken soup this afternoon. Thanks. :)

The temptation to live in a plastic bubble looms large at times like these, but I must resist -- the isolation would get to me, eventually. I'm just telling myself it must be good for me, I must be building up my immunity. Right?

Hmm... that's a lot of illnesses. Maybe your body is having trouble with nursing or lack of sleep, or both?

Lack of sleep...that definitely could have something to do with it. My sleep has improved a lot over the past month or so, but it's nothing like it was pre-baby.

There are always a few sick babies at daycare. Maggie brings this stuff home, usually gets it low grade, then gives it to me and/or Eric. He's holding up fine this time. Maggie had a rough night Thursday; she's doing better, but still isn't yet back to normal. I'm now okay, except for extreme sinus congestion/mild infection, which kept me from sleeping last night.
