Recovering

Well, I missed another holiday this weekend, not due to lack of preparation like the others, but due to a nasty stomach bug. I'm feeling better and just had my first "real" food in about 36 hours: an apple without the peel. It tasted good. But I'm still hungry.

Eric has the bug today; he's convalescing in the bedroom right now. Bless him, he did a great job with Maggie yesterday. I had so hoped he wouldn't be rewarded this way.

Today is a daycare day. Yeah, we started Maggie in daycare two weeks ago, just 4-6 hours/day, 3 days per week. It's been a tough decision, but she seems to have great fun there. She's sleeping better at home, too, which is nice. But the first week she caught a cold and the second week we're pretty sure she brought home this stomach bug (she threw up twice last week), so I'd really like to get through a couple of weeks without any new illnesses. But at least they aren't scary ones. Please, no scary illnesses. Ever.

I think we'll try to have Easter dinner next weekend.

This week:
- Finish the taxes
- Clean up the desk
- Start writing again
- Eat well
- laundrylaundrylaundry
- clean Maggie's room; organize her clothes

Ugh, that sounds awful. That's the drawback about daycare--the kids pick up illnesses all the time.

Have you broken the news to the in-laws yet?

Glad you're feeling better, and I hope Eric recovers soon.

Yeah, I expected this, just not so soon!

Eric mentioned it to his parents last week. My MIL's only response was "it's taking the place of the grandparents," which, considering they are 2,500 miles away I don't think they take too personally. So.

My Mom was pleased that we decided to do it.

Today was hard. Maggie made it pretty obvious that she didn't really want to be left there. She gave me the stink-eye from the car once I parked (I never imagined stink-eye from a 7-month old) and she cried when I put her down. I heard one of the caregivers talking about one of the little boys being sick, and man I just want her to get well and stay well for a while.
