I doubt I would have recognized his name if I hadn't lived in Sacramento for several years, but today I just found out that Congressman Bob Matsui died over the weekend. His loss saddens me deeply, he was too young and too much needed at this time. My sympathies are with his family, but they extend to all of us who needed his voice, his intelligence, and his hard work in Washington. Sacramento has a tough job ahead, trying to find a candidate who can fill his shoes.
