Because Christmas is all about the kids
Dec. 25th, 2004 06:56 pmWe woke up late this morning, although Maggie didn't -- she woke early and waited for us. Eric wanted to shower before going downstairs. When we got downstairs, most everyone wanted breakfast. So, we ate. Then we finally got to the Christmas tree. Then Maggie hit her first naptime, so I took her upstairs to nap. Then I went downstairs and the rest of us opened our presents. Then Maggie woke up and I fed her. Then it was time to start making the dinner. So, I spent the day making dinner, interrupting myself occasionally to feed Maggie or put her down for a nap. Everyone else played with her. It was fun. She had a great time. Finally, we had dinner, and for once she behaved while we ate. Normally she screams through dinner unless I have her on my lap where she can look at all the food she can't eat. But she played and giggled and barely complained at all while we enjoyed turkey and dressing, yams, green beans, and pecan pie. Mmmmm. When we finished, she wanted to eat, and started to doze off while she did. So, I put her to bed.
And beside the Christmas tree are a stack of wrapped presents for her. Maybe we'll have better luck tomorrow morning! :)
