All publications worth their salt have a file of obits ready to run with minimal updating.

Seems like it would be an odd job, writing obits for people who aren't dead yet. I guess one could just think of oneself as a biographer.

Wasn't there a movie a few years ago about a guy who wrote obituaries? Seems like there was....
