This morning on the way to school M said "I feel good. Today I'm not even bothered that we're going to lose our specials and librarian next year. I mean, I know it's going to happen and I don't like it, but it doesn't bother me today."

I do wonder how our kids are better able to roll with the tidal waves than we are.

They're so flexible. It's their greatest survival skill I think -- they have so little opportunity to influence their environment. Of course, my little Leo is also tough and opinionated and works hard to influence her immediate environment (the home and the parents) but she's obviously got that important flexibility too. :)
