Darling Daughter keeps bringing home school library books way above her reading level and having to return them within 4 days.  This week she brought home one of the Warriors series which we haven't even had a chance to crack open.  An anyone recommend similar books that are more at a first grade reading level?  She's already read the Catwings series by Ursula LeGuin (a couple times, she loves them).

Thanks!!

Thanks!

I also just got Moomin from the library (I forget which one), maybe that will be fun for us all.

Linus loves the Moomintrolls stories. His dad read them to him...I just couldn't get into them but maybe that's because I was jumping into the middle.

We're in the middle of My Father's Dragon, which he is loving. Really, anything with a dragon. Have you tried any of Cornelia Funke's books? Dragonrider was a good one (but long...) and the ghost series.

I'm not familiar with the Catwing series...we'll have to check it out!

I heartily second My Father's Dragon. It's a trilogy, actually. My Father's Dragon, Elmer and the Dragon, and The Dragons of Blueland.

I should have also mentioned the Usborne edition of East of the Sun, West of the Moon (http://www.amazon.com/East-West-Usborne-Young-Reading/dp/0794522742/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1295049504&sr=1-2). It's excellent.
