Book recommendations wanted

 Darling Daughter keeps bringing home school library books way above her reading level and having to return them within 4 days.  This week she brought home one of the Warriors series which we haven't even had a chance to crack open.  An anyone recommend similar books that are more at a first grade reading level?  She's already read the Catwings series by Ursula LeGuin (a couple times, she loves them).

We encountered those at the bookstore a while back, and I just couldn't bear them. Maybe as a library thing, though.

We read a book from a series out of England about veterenarians that she loved but it just bored me and Eric to tears, so we're hoping to find some things we can all enjoy, at least usually. :)
