First day of August

Apparently quite a few people decided to skip the last day of July this year -- my inbox has been flooded with "August newsletters" from various places, and my mother asked about Christmas plans (which I've begged her to not mention until October, but in years past she has at least waited until August to bring up.) 

Then my Chinese restaurant fortune at lunch today told me how I had better get my work into full gear next month, which absolutely must mean September because, hello, August is all about birthday parties and traveling and there is no way my work is getting into full gear anytime in the next 4-5 weeks. 

So. 

Happy first day of August, everyone.

A monthly newsletter? That's kinda brilliant. I oughta do that for my family. Not today though. Busy.

A family newsletter is brilliant, true. I'd like that, even if it was only quarterly. These, unfortunately, are marketing materials.
