Writing check-in again

I hand-wrote again today, about an hour, I don't know how many pages (the notebook is downstairs and I'm too lazy to go get it and come back up.)  I have a lot to say about writing, but I don't know when (or, let's be honest, if) I'll get around to posting it, but for now I will say that I have several hours this week set aside for writing (and reading) and a place where there are other writers present to keep me honest about it.  Based on my experience writing today, I'm feeling good about some actual writing (rather than "space-clearing")* happening very soon.

The weekend: didn't manage to do the writing.  :(

*For more on "writing space," see here.

I absolutely love writing by hand. I am glad to know that other people still do that.

I think better when writing by hand, even after years of computer use. Well, maybe I should say my thinking is different when I'm writing by hand. Better in some ways. I do a ton of revising when I move something from paper to the computer, so it's nice to have the benefit of both ways of thinking.

Welcome to my LJ! Mind if I ask how you found me? :)

I've been getting a lot of my 15-minutes in by hand, while I wait for my ancient desktop to boot. It does change how the process works and I like it. But for my wrist's and fingers' and shoulder's sake I have to switch back and forth.

Ah, the benefits of a slow ancient desktop! :) I hurt my back a couple of weeks ago and have decided to travel without my laptop when possible, so that's part of it. I also just like using paper sometimes, and try to stay in practice. With practice it really does get easier for the hands and arms. Really!
