Miss M processes the events of her day-to-day life by telling stories about her toy animals. This morning at breakfast she said "Pink Poodle has a mind of his own. He has to sit on the thinking rug."
I want to make sure, however, that she isn't getting the impression that she's being punished for "having a mind of her own." Girls have it tough enough as it is!
"Bad choices" are probably something we should emphasize more. I know we never said "mind of her own" in direct connection with a time out, but apparently she made the indirect connection!
Yep. He got the bad choices thing at preschool. At home we tend to say "That's not ok" but the bad choices idea has stuck with him more. At this age they have a lot of respect for the rules. Aidan also likes to say "You're being rude" when we don't give him what he wants. *g*
