The home-buying process seems to be going well. We're about two weeks away from closing on the new house right now, if all continues to go well. The inspection was fine, only one moderate issue and the sellers were already beginning to deal with that, so yay for that.

Here are some more pictures of the place, if you're interested.

A brief health update -- I'm mostly over my sinus infection. The weather has been great for several days now and I'm starting to feel more normal, which reminds me that it's time to figure out how to spend the first three months of every year here. It's a dry, sunny heat. And wow I could use that every January, February, and March. Depression sucks. 'Nuff said about that.

I'll try to update again next week -- Mom's in town this week and we're busy doing things.

If, like me the last two years, you spend the entire winter indoors and more or less at home all/most of the day, you might seriously want to consider getting a "light therapy box". I paid $300 for one from Alaska (because if anyone knows the need, a company in Alaska would ;-) and it was worth every penny.

Congrats on the new house! I must have missed the post where you made the offer :)

Didn't you have a new kitchen installed in the current house, like, six minutes ago?

The house looks nice! Congrats on the new place.

Glad to hear you're feeling better, too. This weather is really a pick-me-up.

New counters and range two years ago, and a new refrigerator a few months after that. Time flies. Or maybe you're thinking of the picture I posted of the kitchen of the new house when our offer was accepted?

Thanks! We're hoping Maggie's second birthday party will be in the backyard. :)

Got your email, thanks for the update.

I actually have one of those lights, I just don't realize that I need(ed) it until I start feeling better in the Spring. I used it several weeks before Christmas last year, then kind of forgot about it. I'm not sure how to "sanity check" when I need to start using it again, but I really ought to figure out some sort of test or checklist or something.

That house is gorgeous. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the closing goes well. I live in S. Florida and have heard horror stories of closings.
Glad you feel better too. Have had awful sinuses my whole life and was on 3 weeks of antibiotics to get over the last infection...not fun.

Thanks! We're keeping our fingers crossed for no major hitches, you just never know until the deal is done.

I'm still trying to figure out if the 15 days of antibiotics I took was enough or not. :( I'm ready for summer!
