just plain damp

We've all got colds -- me, Maggie, and Eric. I got acupuncture yesterday and am starting to feel better. Maggie went to the pediatrician today and was diagnosed with two infected ears. She begins antibiotic later today, and should be on the mend soon. Eric is napping right now. He's been taking lots of Tylenol and Sudafed, and if the path of my own illness is any indication, he'll be at his peak sickness today or tomorrow.

When do we get summer, again? I'm ready.

Oh, poor Maggie! Somehow Aidan's avoided having any ear infections so far, but Derek and Michael each had several and they were miserable. Christian is recovering now from a bad cold that he shared with Derek and Aidan. I agree with you...let's keep this nice weather.

Thanks. My brother and I both had lots of ear infections as kids, which is one of the reasons I wanted to breastfeed Maggie -- in hopes of avoiding that. I'm really disappointed, but also a bit surprised, since I didn't think Maggie had been showing any ear-infection symptoms. I hate giving my little girl antibiotics, but I don't want to risk her getting worse. :(

Well, I nursed all three babies and as I said, Derek and Michael had a few infections each. Does Maggie get the vaccine that's supposed to prevent ear infections? It starts with a P. I think that's helped Aidan.

I'll ask about that vaccine at her next check-up. It's in about 3 weeks.

I keep wanting to say it's called Prevnar or something like that, but I'm probably just regurgitating the name of some impotence drug from tv. :-D

Prevnar is one of the shots she's getting, I'll look up the info for it.

I was going to email you this week to see if you and Maggie wanted to have lunch with me and Linus, but then Linus got a cold, and Josh got a cold, and now I have it. Yuck. There's not much worse than everyone being sick at the same time.

So maybe sometime when we're all healthy? Hope you all feel better soon. :)

I've been thinking of you, too. I'd love to get together one of these days. But yeah, after we're all feeling better. Spring crud is bad enough, but for everyone to have it at once is really challenging. Hope you all are on the mend soon.
