Oh, I suppose it's just the sarcasm bug that bit me. I just felt a little perplexed this morning when I discovered that it is "International Women's Day," but I hadn't previously heard anything about it. So, I'm like expecting a Hallmark card or something? No, that's not it. But maybe a headline about how Bush will recognize International Women's Day by expanding the Family and Medical Leave Act would be appropriate.
It's more political than personal. I'm doing just fine, thanks. :)
I observe it as a day to reaffirm the (sad, IMO) continuing need to fight for women's rights around the world. Sometimes I feel happy about it; other years I feel something more like a grim determination. This year is something in between.
