What's with women walking around these days with their panties sticking up over the waistline of their pants? Just after a delightful Baja Fresh lunch on Monday, I was throwing out my trash (at Baja Fresh you throw away the plate. That's so weird, but I don't know how to get around it) when I noticed a sophisticated-looking slender young woman sitting near the window in a very expensive looking grey sweatsuit. Her top was riding up and her bottoms were riding down and I swear she was wearing Power Puff Girls panties, which I caught a gander of a good four inches of above her waistband. I wondered if she knew this was happening, and it's some sort of hip new thing, to display your Underoos around Nike while you're working, or whether it was all just a terrible mistake. I was afraid if I mentioned it to her, she would think me hopelessly un-hip. Because, after all, and as always, it's all about me.

Which brings to mind my lack of posting lately. I don't know what the reason for that is, because of course I almost always have something to say, though it's not necessarily interesting.... I guess I just never took the time to do it. Or my thoughts were so boring even to me that I felt no need to share them. I dunno.

Anyhow, I just got back from jury duty. I was dreading it, but all we did was drink coffee and eat muffins (coffee was free, muffin was 95 cents) and wait. Then a guy came in and said that there was only going to be one trial that day that needed a jury, so he picked 18 people to stay (only 6 of them will actually serve) and the other 200 or so of us got to leave at 10:35 in the morning. Woo hoo! I've done my part for democracy, now I don't have to do it again for two more years!

It's lunchtime....
