Break it to me gently

I won't gross you out with the details of how my illness progressed yesterday. It was bad. The good news is, both I and Maggie seem to be on the mend -- feeling better today, if still a bit weak and tired.

I've lost a lot of the baby weight, assisted in part by this week's sickness. Maggie continues to gain weight, so we're both doing well on that front.

I'm back to my earliest maternity clothes, stuff I was wearing at the end of the first trimester, beginning of the second. Unfortunately, my ass seems to have deflated. While I think it would be nice for Maggie to (eventually) have a shape like mine, I do not want her to have my shape. I'd like to keep my shape for myself for a few more decades, thanks. But I'm guessing that this is the beginning of the bad news. Does anyone know if a 30-something first-time mom can get her ass back after delivery?

Oh, and I'm not sure what kind of exercising I can do. I seem to have injured my tailbone in the process of giving birth, and I'm waiting to hear more advice from the doctor regarding movement.

It's only been about two weeks, right? You might have to take it easy for a little while longer. It took me a month to get over all the soreness.

Glad you guys are feeling better. :-)

Sunday will be three weeks. My, how the time does fly! And drag, too. Weird how time can do both at once, but I definitely don't have my strength back (of course, being ill this week didn't help that) which means I'm missing a lot of activities I used to do (evening walk around the neighborhood, **sigh**), and yet the baby is changing so fast. She's gained a whole pound already!

I'll try to be patient, rest up a couple more weeks. My doctor's office today said pretty much the same thing, take Motrin, be patient, rest, and if you don't feel better by the 6-week checkup, we'll probably do some physical therapy.
