I was given a blanket when I was born, made by my aunt. She made similar blankets for my cousins (her daughters) and my sister, but I was the only one who kept mine as a "blankie."
I slept with the blanket as a child, and then we had on and off years. My youngest sister inherited it for a little while, and then I took it back. It resided on my bed until the day Linus was born, actually. I just decided that it's finally time for it to go into the keepsakes box in storage.
As a sidenote, the same aunt and one of my cousins made a similar blanket for Linus when he was born. I suppose it would be hard to be named Linus and NOT have a blankie. :)
