34 weeks 5 days -- update
Jul. 2nd, 2004 01:14 pmJust got back from the doctor's office, all is well in babyland.
Eric came along for this one. We found out that le bebe's body is now making something called surfactin which is good for the lungs, helps them mature. She continues to be head down, let's hope she stays that way. Eric got to feel her head, which he found very cool. Her heart rate -- 160? That seems high, but I think that's right. Oh, and I've gained 3 pounds in 2 weeks. That's the fastest weight gain I've seen during the pregnancy, I think. No estimate yet of baby's size/weight -- I meant to ask but forgot. I forget all kinds of things. Forgot to get my bloodwork done after the last appointment. Forgot to take my paperwork with me today.
Next appointment is week 36, then I start going weekly.
We have our last birthin' class tonight. Fine with us. Next week, car seat clinic so we can find out that we installed the carseat wrong. Then in 2 weeks we have an infant care class, in which we will learn the finer points of swaddling, among other things. I'm hoping a week or two after that to be bringing the yungun home, though technically she might not come along for another 7 weeks and she'd still be considered "on time." Humongous, I suppose, but on time.
Time to start thinking about packing the bag. Wow.

Date: 2004-07-02 05:40 pm (UTC)You'd think and hope installing a car seat would be less than rocket science, but apparently that's not the case. Good luck!

Date: 2004-07-05 10:02 am (UTC)Wed/Thurs/Fri would all work, although Wednesday would probably work best (I might go to Lincoln City on Th or F). Yup, would love to grab a bite and a cup of something!

ETYMOLOGY: Middle English swadlen, probably back-formation from swadling (band), swaddling (cloth), or swathelbonde, both from *swathelen, probably frequentative of Old English swathian, to swathe.
