I dreamed I was buying Jelly Bellies to give to President Bush for his birthday. I was also making him a curtain out of three layers of gauzy material (that ended up wrinkling like paper, which didn't seem very nice.)

I said to my mom "one good thing about Reagan -- Jelly Bellies," and she agreed.

The guy at the store told me the Jelly Bellies were made out back of the store -- it was ground contamination that made them have that sour flavor I like. I had been nibbling on some and decided not to eat any more of them.

I hoped that Bush wouldn't call me a "good Republican" or ask if I were going to vote for him in November, because I would have to tell him that I'm not a Republican of any sort, I had no intention of voting for him in November, and I didn't even like him.

Yet I wanted to give him a birthday gift. (Albeit a ground-contaminated wrinkled one?) I was actually quite excited to be giving him something I thought he would like (the Jelly Bellies) and something I thought he could use (the curtain, although it never quite got finished nicely.)

Isn't that strange.

Edited to add: I just looked it up, and Bush's birthday is coming up July 6.

Heh...maybe since we know that 1)Reagan liked jelly bellies, and 2)Reagan is dead, maybe your unconscious mind figured there was a causal relationship. Could the curtain represent the veil between worlds?

The "ground contamination" seems significant too, in that light.

"I come not to praise Caesar, but to pelt him with Jelly Babies." :)

The veil between the worlds -- I hadn't thought of that. When I was typing it, I did consider the linguistic possibility -- "it's curtains for your administration!"
