Pregnant

Who is this little person inside of me?

She hates chicken, but likes lemonade and grapefruit juice.

She's active, squirming just below my ribs, or way down below my navel.

She gets the hiccups. Often.

What will our first meeting be like? Will she be purple or pink? (Most babies seem to be one or the other.) Will she want to eat at 4am?

Just a few of the things that I wonder.

When my mom was pregnant with me, she craved Chocolate Raspberry Truffle ice cream from Baskin Robbins. She can't stand it now. And me? I love chocolate strawberries, chocolate cherries, chocolate raspberries. Chocolate + red fruit = yummmmm.

I don't know if that helps or not, but I thought it was interesting.

Oh, also: Were you zipping around town at 3-ish yesterday afternoon? I was driving and I swear I thought I saw you.

We were in town Monday, in the library/Pioneer Square area at 3-ish, was that where you were?

Yes, I swear the baby makes all the food decisions, or at least most of them. She has to be tricked into chicken, and even then there's a chance of rejection. Boo. :-(

Chocolate + red fruit = yummmm, indeed! I made chocolate raspberry brownies this weekend. Soooo good! Easy, too; lemme know if you want the recipe.

Nah, I was driving on the freeway. Guess I must've been hallucinating.

I would loooove the recipe. I've been really restless lately and I want to cook or bake or something.

Yep, that brownie recipe sound divine. In honor of strawberry season and the end of school (long-winded email to you later this week, btw), I'll be making the following this weekend, with a slightly different biscuit recipe, and maybe rum instead of brandy:

I'm not proofreading well at all today. "Sounds" not "sound." Me talk pretty someday.

Mmmm, that sounds tasty! I, unfortunately, get a rash from strawberries, though. I would have to subsitute something else, probably raspberries, which I looooooove.

Raspberry brownie recipe will be posted in the next 24 hours, I think.

Ooh, sorry about the strawberry affliction! Raspberries would taste just fine. I think I'm in it for the chocolate, ultimately...

I'll get that recipe posted soon, probably tomorrow. I'm too sleepy to do it now, I'm afraid I'd skip an important ingredient. Then you would hate me. :-)

One thing's for sure - she'll be the most beautiful and eprfect baby ever.

Except for ours, of course :)

Aww, what a sweet thing to say. Thanks, Christian. :-)

Your baby is certainly a sweetie, himself!

You don't have to wait much longer to find out! Though at this point it probably feels like forever.

Yes, I do feel like 10 weeks is a long time to go, although I have a buddy who is 7 weeks ahead of me, and I'm starting to experience things that she was posting about 7 weeks ago and it kinda seems like she just mentioned them. So, maybe it will go fast?

Hiccups, eh? Hmm.

I'd say the little person is developing quite the discriminating palate...

Of course she'll want to eat at 4 a.m.
