Sinuses

Second morning in a row they've awakened me at 4am and kept me awake. This sucks. Sitting here at the computer, I can breathe -- but in bed? I'm not yet ready to risk it again.

So, here I am, reading blogs and bookslut. You know, Starbucks recently distributed a 33-page drink manual, apparetnly to further familiarize confused customers with their many beverage possibilities. They suggest that what you order says something important about who you are. So, what does the fact that I order a short (yes, that's right, most Starbucks still sell 8oz. "short"s, you just have to know to ask for them) decaf drip?

33 pages of coffee drinks?? Now I know we're in the middle of the decline of western civilization.

My only regret is that I didn't pick one up when I saw it. It seemed so unnecessary, but now I'm really curious as to its content. I keep hearing things about this little booklet, but not seeing any of them anywhere....

Pregnant sinuses

Oh dear, the puffy, stuffy pregnant sinuses are probably with you for the next 4+ months. All your tissues are going to be more puffy from accumulating the necessary extra blood -- usually a big burst of blood made, resulting in weight gain, right about the 20-week mark. (You may also find yourself craving iron-rich foods right now, too...)

Anyhow, I recommend buying a heating pad, the kind you can heat in the microwave. When you get one of these spells, heat the pack and try and rest with it on your forehead. You'll probably be getting sinus headaches through the summer, will be good for those as well particularly since you can't take NSAID's (I found Tylenol useless, don't know how you'll fare).

Hang in there!

(Nuts, sorry if this is a duplicate, I'm getting an error on posting.

P.S. It's Rayne, BTW, not really "anonymous".)

Hi, Rayne! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you get back to see this reply before long (since I know you won't be notified by email that it's here.)

Good suggestions, all. I've never had any luck with Tylenol, either, so I need all the drug-free recommendations I can get.

I'm not craving iron-rich foods at the moment, but I am getting little dizzy spells, and morning nosebleeds are not uncommon. Maybe a little iron will help, I'll try steak for dinner soon. Thanks!
