I see it's been a week since I posted anything, and I actually have some news which I should have posted last week.

Today makes 19 weeks, 1 day. Last Thursday we had the 18 week ultrasound, and the baby looks like a girl! Bring on the pink! (No, really, don't. Regardless of gender, the room the baby will eventually claim is blue and white, and will stay that way. Pink is pretty on flowers, but not on walls, and only so much on clothes.)

I still need to figure out how to post pictures on LJ. I can post a blurry ultrasound pic. Maybe some other stuff, too. Eventually.

I'm going to leave it at that for now. It's 8:30 on Monday morning, and there's only so much functioning my brain is willing to do. Also, I need to e-mail my brother before I leave for writing practice.

Happy week, y'all! What's up with you?

Congrats on le baby. And thanks for refraining from dousing her in pink. My mother dressed me in pink for years and while it didn't scar me horribly, it probably was a factor in my eventual homosexuality. Ha! But, yeah. Gender neutral colors are cool. Try green -- that's very Pacific Northwest.

I'm still in California, fighting off this stupid cold. On the upside, I do feel about ten times better, and we're going shopping today. Shopping makes everything better. And I'll be back in cool, rainy (it is cool and rainy there, right?!) P-town by the end of this week. Yay!

Sorry about your cold! I've been following your adventures on my friends page. It's cool here, and should be rainy again by the time you get back. :-)

Pink paired with orange is okay, because it bothers a lot of people.

I'm going to make a great mom, no? :)

Hope to see you at writing next Monday! I'm gonna buy a copy of PDKTF soon, too, so I'm gonna need an autograph!

Happy travels.

:-)

hooray hooray hooray! congratulations on the girl! i agree that pink is not a good color for an entire room; in fact, i rejected pink at a fairly early age. once kindergarten was over, i refused all forms of pink clothing. (except my favorite rainbow brite t-shirt and matching pink pants. those were okay.)

congrats again!

Thank you!

I rejected pink early, too. Once we moved into a house with pink carpet in my bedroom. I insisted on blue walls to make up for it.

Rainbow Brite. Heehee!

Awww... a girl! Sweet. It's so hard to get away from those gender colors and stereotypes. The girls get pink and lavender and flowers and butterflies and almost everything for boys has some kind of sports theme. Drives me crazy. Christian, being German, is puzzled. "What is this, football? We don't want our kid to be a football player!"

I wish there were more neutral clothes for small kids.

I hope my girl likes cars and (if I should have one) my boy likes gardening.

I like cars, and gardening. I'm not much for football, though. :)

If we don't make it big as writers, Lisa, maybe we can design cool clothes for kids.

I don't see why we can't do both! :-)

Because I'm also going to be a world-famous chef. And, in my spare time, a diplomat for the United Nations. :-)

Oh, so you can cater the state dinners and attend them too! And then write brilliant novels satirizing the other guests. ;-)

Congratulations on the girl!! You are officially the only pregnant person I know who is having a girl. :)

If I were having a girl she would have ended up with a bunch of boy clothes. Blue is my favorite color, and for some reason they only make baby boy clothes blue.

I would love to see some blue clothes for girls. I wonder if they sell them in Europe somewhere? I've seen denim jumpers for girls, but not much else blue.

There are a lot of boys coming along these days, aren't there? They say more boys are born during wartime....
