2011

I met a girl
who sang the blues
and I asked her for
some happy news
she just smiled and
turned away

Why sad?

(and now I have this song stuck in my head!)

Thank you.

Mortality is a real kick in the ass.

True, very true.

It is nice when you can go about your days not thinking about it, but when something happens, someone dies or faces serious illness or an accident and you come face to face with it...it sort of hangs on, lingers, and sticks with you for a while til you can shake it a bit and push it to the back of your mind and focus on the good stuff more again.

This year has been pretty harsh that way. Many losses, though this one is the most personal. I've been having trouble staying focused on the good stuff without worrying about loss. Which keeps my therapist from going hungry, I guess. I'm working on focusing on the good stuff. Working on it.

That's beautiful. Happy Friday to you!

Thanks, Jeni. You too.

Ugh. That is terribly sad. Pancreatic cancer sucks. I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

Thank you, J.
