Not happy with the holidays

What with preparing for my final exam, visitors, and gift giving, I'm incredibly stressed, am procrastinating like a champion, and am sad that no writing is getting done.  I think I need a new approach to demands.

Don't beat yourself up. Some times of year are like that. This is the one time of year I will let a day go by without writing. Preferably not two in a row, but that's because if I don't write for too long I'm not fun to live with (my family will verify this).

I'm not sure it's beating myself up, exactly. I'm mostly disappointed. Some people handle things, but I stress out and slow down or shut down. If there's one thing I've learned this year (and believe me there's more than one) it's that I am happier when I get my writing time in. What I haven't yet learned is to make sure that that happens. I always prioritize my own happiness pretty low. But, like you, I get mean when I get unhappy, so it's really for the best of everyone.
