Quick check-up this afternoon, all is well in babyland. I've gained a couple of pounds (not sure how many, I'm wearing different shoes) and grown a couple of centimeters (in the belly only, unfortunately -- I'll never be any taller) and the pow pow pow of the baby's heart beats about 150 times/minute.

The heartbeat is amazing, isn't it? It always sounds like a freight train to me.

It's all such a wonderful experience.

I have our six week old on my lap right now, and he's smiling and laughing at me... and I still remember seeing the first ultrasound, and watching him move...
