Hey, friends!

Please do me, and public libraries, and children in Africa a favor, please, and go comment over at
[profile] kellyrfineman  's  Library Lovin' Post.  Kelly will donate 25 cents for each commenter to her local library system *and* 25 cents to Books for Africa, up to $100 each.

For every commenter Kelly gets, I'll donate 10 cents to
Multnomah County Libraries, 10 cents to Washington County Libraries, and 10 cents to Books for Africa.  So please, go post a comment over there, and consider making a match of your own if it's within your means.  Leave a comment here and I'll add another 25 cents to Books for Africa!

Want to help more without spending a penny of your own money?  Check out the list of pledging bloggers here.

PS - I promise not to make a habit of posting with oversized fonts, because, yeah, a little annoying.  But at least it's not blinking.

Ooops, fixed! :)

Libraries mean so much to me, and I've never forgotten Doris Lessing's Nobel essay about the preciousness of a book in Africa, so Books for Africa called out to me as soon as you mentioned it. I'm tickled to make the matches.

One of the other participants is sending money to Books for Africa as well. I'm pretty stoked about that - it takes them only 50 cents to send a book. Not sure how, but I'm willing to accept that at face value.

Came over from Kelly's place to send another comment of love out to both libraries and Books for Africa. I work in one and have collected books for the other, so, uh - good show!

This stopped me in my tracks - I'm from Multnomah County. (Now an East Coaster) The downtown main branch is the first place I visit when I go home, and it got me through my teen years and my string of odd jobs out of college. So many memories of a wonderful place. Thank you ~

Hooray for Multnomah and Washington County libraries--two of the best library systems in the world. So happy to be a member. Books for Africa is a great organization, too!
