You never know what you're gonna get

When I picked up Maggie from school on Monday, she was holding a book she couldn't put down and yelling to me with great excitement about it.  I've never really seen her so excited over a book, and this is a kid who really likes books (especially cross-marketing ones like Princesses, Barbies, and Ponies, but I digress.)  As she ran toward me waving the book the first thing I noticed was that the cover wasn't pink.  Then she got closer and I got a good look at it, and almost fell over with surprise and wonder.

Oooh I bet Linus would like that one. Maybe I should add some princesses and ponies to the mix too, for balance. :) We read about trains, pirates and monsters.

Maggie enjoys being afraid of pirates. I've got "Pirates Don't Change Diapers" waiting for the right moment, I try to keep a book or two in reserve for "special" moments (usually as a reward, sometimes as a distraction!)

Oh we love "Pirates Don't Change Diapers." It's fun to read aloud, which I can't say for all the books Linus is fond of.
