Keeping the faith
Oct. 27th, 2008 12:34 pmMuch difficulty writing last week, but also lots of support from the cosmos, as in I met several new writers to work with and talked about my friend's novel and the revision of that novel with her. The difficulty was due to lots of things, including bad working habits and inertia, but probably the most damaging is the amount of time I spend online, for two reasons. The obvious reason being, of course, that if I'm not writing, then I'm not writing. The less obvious reason being that I read things online that so trouble me that I start to think of writing as unimportant, and not nearly powerful enough to fix all that is wrong. And I feel powerless, and blocked, and frustrated.
The obvious solution to this is to spend less time online. Simple, but not easy. So at least, for now, I am making it a goal to be offline on Tues, Wed, and Thurs of each week except for checking email once in the morning and once in the evening. Of course, I suspect I'll be online quite a bit on Wed. Nov. 5.
Meanwhile, right now, it's time to get the rugrat from daycare, and figure out the plan for the afternoon.
Enough comma splicing for one day!
