but the words don't come
Jan. 6th, 2008 04:55 amI'm so out of practice writing.
I've been awake since about 1:45 this morning, spent a couple of hours thinking about lots of different things, some of those things were writing things, but I haven't actually written any of it. Now I'm checking Delphi forums, and the Livejournal Friends page, and I'm feeling hungry. I'm typing this on a Mac keyboard, which I am even worse on than a MS keyboard, so I'm not feeling patient enough with my typos to actually write anything. And Neil Gaiman reminded me of something yesterday when he said "Pens. Fountain pens." I'm a longhand writer by temperament, I'm so much happier revising on the computer than actually composing here. It's time to get the paper and pen out again (figuratively, at the moment, but in another day it will literally be time) and get to the business of good old-fashioned inky words on a good old-fashioned page.
