Bad blogger
Jan. 19th, 2007 11:15 amI have so many amusing stories to tell from the holidays, but alas, they may never be posted, seeing as how the holidays were over about 3 weeks ago, and at the time I was sooo glad they were over that it seems almost blasphemous to revisit them. But it wasn't that bad, really.
Coming up three weeks from now -- yoga teacher training! Woot! I'm hoping this is the first step toward something resmbling a career for me. Too soon to tell, but I'm excited, because I really want to learn this stuff, and if it helps me earn a few bucks a week that's pretty great, too. When the school sent my confirmation of enrollment this week, they sent a booklist, which at first I thought surprisingly short at five necessary titles and 5 recommended titles. Then I read the assignment page, which said about two chapters each from two of the books, and "please read all other books in their entirety before class begins." So, three books plus four chapters -- in the next three weeks. Again, for the pre-motherhood me, that's not a huge deal. But for the post-motherhood me, it's daunting. In 2006 I read a total of I think five books (beginning to end, that doesn't count several I started but didn't finish.) Now I'm supposed to read 3+ books in three weeks. Yow.
Finally, I hope next week to post a Maggie lexicon. She's got some pretty cute words and pronunciations right now, but her language skills are developing rapidly, and while that's wonderful in it's own way, it means that the cute mispronunciations are going away, and I don't want them to be forgotten.
