I don't get much news these days, so an email I just received is the first I've heard of this. It took me three Google searches to start turning up info about S 1995, the bill that just left committee and will be voted on by the Senate soon. Apparently it's being touted as a way to help small business provide insurance coverage for their employees. Unfortunately, the way this bill goes about remedying this problem (a very real problem, as I'm sure many of us know) is by overriding state-mandated coverages of certain health conditions, such as pregnancy and infertility, and medical procedures, such as mammography and well-child visits. Coverage for medical supplies such as those for the management of diabetes may be affected as well. To see some of the coverages that may be affected in your state, click here:
