I still have December on my wall calendar

Time goes so fast with a little babe in the house. The days fly by. They're starting to take on a more predictable shape now, which helps. But so much less gets done than ever before. It's taken me two weeks to catch up on the laundry. I'm behind on the bookkeeping. I am at least 2 months behind on my magazine reading. I have emails over a month old I haven't answered. My best friends didn't get any Christmas gifts from me. (Well, Laura kinda did, but only because it was supposed to be a housewarming gift. She moved last May.)

All complaining aside, though, this is a really magical time. There's something new nearly every day. This evening Maggie had a tremendous giggle fit after I changed her diaper, and we just laughed and laughed for a long time. Then the poor thing got the hiccups, and her expression changed to "what just happened?"

She's sleeping now, something I hope to be doing very soon.
