Meanwhile, back at the ranch
Nov. 8th, 2004 09:50 pmI did not break my faucet while cleaning it, after all. No, the news is much worse than that. It got jammed with a bit of the water heater dip tube, which is decomposing due to our water heater's advanced age (ooh, 13 years, it's ancient!!)
So, the cussing plumber was unable to fix the kitchen sink on Friday, because he didn't have the necessary part. We've had to turn off the hot water valve supplying the kitchen sink. Neat-o. At least we get to turn it back on once a day to wash dishes.
Neither could he fix our leaky shower, which Eric spent 4 hours last weekend trying to fix, only to have it leak again the next day.
But that's not the fun part. I'm sure you know what the fun part is. Yes, indeedy, we have won ourselves the necessity of buying a NEW WATER HEATER! And all of the necessary upgrades to bring its installation up to code.
YAAAAYYYYEEEE!
The plumber is due back tomorrow with the water heater, and the necessary parts to fix the leaky faucets. If you hear a scream midday, that's my credit card being massacred.
In other news, Maggie has had a bit of a stomach bug. She threw up on me at 2:00 Saturday morning, and she's been tired, cranky, gassy, and spit-uppy since. She fusses in her sleep, which keeps me awake since she's in our room. I dreamed I was telling Steven Tyler what an awful headache I had, then I woke up and really did have an awful headache. Then she and I napped for a couple of hours today, but that was interrupted by her not feeling well, too. So, neither of us is sleeping well at the moment.
It's sad to see her so tired. She's even having trouble mustering up a smile for me or her daddy. I want my happy baby back.
