More to do!

So, if any of you have not yet checked out my "friends" page, please click on the "friends" link at the top of this page. I've chosen quite amusing and talented writers for my friends page; I spent lots of time visiting it because I enjoy these folks' writings so much. You just might, too.

Unfortunately, they tend to write so well that I am daunted from my own rather pathetic blog. I'll make an effort soon to get back to writing about what I know you really want to read -- me me me!

Yay!

I finally added to my wordcount today! I only got about 700 words in, but they're not half bad. They're not fully good, by any stretch of the definition, but they aren't half bad, and that's cool.

I have a setting, sort of. I have a character, sort of. I have a conflict, sort of. I know where I'm going, sort of.

This is very exciting!

It's kind of awful, though, how important this feels sometimes. Like I'm doing brain surgery or striving for world peace or dismantling Monsanto or something really really important like that. It's a story. A first draft of a story, at that. Cut loose, have fun, lighten up.
