High pressure system

No fog this morning, just sparkling sunlight all day long, and about 10 degrees warmer than yesterday's 58, too, so it was lovely lovely. I am an entirely different person when the sun shines. A person I like more. A person I more enjoy being.

The good news is, the forecast is for 4-7 days more like this.

The bad news is, I live in Oregon and winter is coming.

But for now, I'll just take the good news, the good days.

In photo news, my memory card for my new birthday camera should arrive tomorrow, so I can finally start taking pictures. Nice day for it. The trees are stunning right now. I've never had so much fun going out for gas as I did today, looking at all the trees in yellow and gold and orange and red and even still a good bit of green. As an added bonus, gas was 70 cents a gallon less than a week ago. I thought for a minute there was something wrong when the pump stopped at $28 and change. Hooray!

My mood is totally hooked to the amount of sunlight that makes it through the clouds, too. And yet, somehow I can't seem to leave Seattle. Winter is a bitch, but every summer I get amnesia and find myself in love with the place all over again.

Yay for the memory card and the lower gas prices!

I thought of you (and a couple of others) when I wrote the Oregon sentence. :) Summers here are awesome, but by February I need to go far far away -- preferably for several weeks, but we all know how practical that isn't.

Yeah, I'm totally with you. I went waaay south of the equator this January for almost three weeks. It was awesome, although it made spring hellish, because I had to wait for what seemed FOREVER for the light to return. Not to mention that we never really had any hot days this summer.

Oh, I think you and I could be GOOD friends! :) Yes, I missed hot days this summer, although we traveled to the midwest in August, and in that time and place I was very grateful for a mild summer -- no extreme heat or humidity in what is typically a miserable time of year. Still, I love my dry West Coast heat -- you can't live in Sacramento for four years (with a broken car air conditioner) and not learn to love the heat.

I spent my formative years in SW Florida. I grew up with heat. The moist heat that fills your lungs like a wet sponge. I used to love all that humidity. Now, it feels oppressive. But I do get cold quite easily, especially my extremities (and no, I don't have Reynaud's). Maybe it's just poor circulation, I dunno.

But I do love the mild summers here. And honestly, I don't miss wearing shorts :P.
