Happy Mother's Day

I've been up since 2:30 this morning. I'm giving a baby shower this afternoon. Issues of mothering are weighing heavily on my mind, I'm composing a long, possibly boring, post about all of that for later.

I'm so thrilled to be a mom, I've got the coolest kid on Earth. I just wish I was better at being her mom. And I wish my mom hadn't sucked so badly at it. But I guess she at least gave me an excuse, right? Haha.

I love how much my kid wants me. I never thought I'd love being wanted. The other night she was snuggling up against me and she whispered "oooh, your neck is so bootiful, can I sleep on it?" How amazing is that.
