Cell phone

Please, if you're reading this, I'd love to know what cell phone you have and what service you use and whether you like them or not. I haven't bought a cell phone in about 6 years and there seem to be so many choices and I have no idea how to decide.

Thanks.

I use Virgin Mobile.

Advantages:
-it's a "pre-pay" deal, which I had always associated with having to buy minutes cards at walmart until I looked into it. You register your credit card with their website, and then can put $ on the phone by entering a password on the phone itself. It's definitely saved me money, because you don't have to commit to a plan. I was paying probably $75/month from Verizon, and am now paying about $50/month for more features. I have paid as little as $20/month. Right now I'm on a pseudo plan... so many anytime minutes, free nights and weekends, but no commitment. I can switch to any other payment format anytime I want. It feels fair, which Verizon never did.
-It uses the sprint network, which around here anyway provides Much better service than Verizon.
-I really came to hate regular cellphone companies... service, billing, plans, argh! This arrangement is much more to my liking.

Disadvantages:
-limited number of phones to choose from. see http://virginmobileusa.com
-uses the sprint network... which doesn't have the coverage in remote areas (i'm told) that some of the other services do.

Thanks! I checked out Virgin Mobile last night and was very interested. We've got two plans right now -- I'm using a Verizon plan I got ages ago, and Eric is using Tracfone, a prepaid plan similar to Virgin. They use the Verizon network around here, which has been fantastic for both of us. But I don't like Verizon's plans now. If I want to get both of us on a Verizon family plan, it will cost about 40% more than we're paying right now.

Oops, someone's at the door....

I have T-Mobile and have been very happy with them. I currently have the Razor and I like it a lot.

I'm really wanting to get a Razor for my husband, maybe later one for myself. But I'm not sure any of the companies that offer it have plans that I like...I'll check T-Mobile, I can't remember now whether I've looked at their site or not.

Thanks!
