I need a holiday icon

According to Geek Guys at Best Buy, the problem with our computer is a bad DIMM. $60 to diagnose, $40 to fix, and countless hours to replace lost programs and re-populate our data.

Happy Holidays!

If it's a DIMM/RAM (memory vs hard drive) kind of thing, have you really lost any data or programs that were on your harddrive? I would lean towards thinking not...

Well, we probably would not have, except in a blind attempt to "fix" the problem (erroneously assuming it was a virus or an OS problem) we re-formatted the hard drive and attempted to re-install Windows. It was only when it wouldn't properly re-install that we realized there was probably a hardware issue.
