I'm fighting another cold. This seems to happen every week. I feel good for a few days, I start to feel crummy, I dose up on vitamins and herbs, I get better again, and then it starts all over. Today, though, I'm tired, and I almost feel like giving in to it. Silly. I don't really want to be sick. But I would like to get some more rest.

That cycle of a few good days, then back to feeling crummy is so discouraging. One of the hardest things about having a small child around the house is that you can't just stay in bed all day if you're feeling bad.

Discouraging, yes. And it's starting early this year -- last year we didn't start getting sick until January. I'm a little fearful as to what this winter holds for us, health-wise.

Yesterday was great, though, when a feeling-good day coincided with a beautiful-weather day. The downside was that all of my plans involved indoor work, but I still got to open a window and appreciate it that way.

Heh. I try to make sure none of my plans involve work.

This feels like it's going to be a cold winter. And maybe a winter for colds. Aidan's had three since the start of September, after going months without being sick at all.

Poor Aidan. :( It seems like once school started, everyone was getting sick. On of Eric's co-workers has three kids in school, and they keep bringing illnesses home and giving them to him. He's missed work at least one day a week for the past month. So, I guess I shouldn't complain, we're doing much better than that.

You know, I actually considered it a few weeks ago. The airfares to Hawaii for this month were really good. It was the hotel that was going to do all the financial damage. Any suggestions for comfy but inexpensive places to stay?
