I'm doing my first giveaway!  Woot!

I got an extra Terry Pratchett Discworld 2012 calendar from Amazon.co.uk last month, due to a shipping mixup, so I have one to give away. Since I know that several of you like Pratchett I thought I'd just let anyone who is interested enter by posting a comment here, then I'll randomly select a name using the slips-of-paper-in-a-bowl method. (Unless I get way too many comments, in which case I'll find some online randomizer to help me pick a winner.)  Limitations: You must be in the US or Canada. Post a comment no later than 11:59:59pm Pacific Time on Thursday February 23.

It's a nice calendar, this year's illustrations are by Paul Kidby, I like it even better than last year's calendar. I'm excited to share!

Hi, Elizabeth!

Your odds are great so far! :-) I added you back! I saw your entry the other day on attending conferences -- I worry about spending so much time at conferences that I forget to write. As I've only attended one, though, and don't expect to attend more than one this year, I don't think I'm in danger of that, yet. What would be better is to attend less internet!

I sometimes write here about writing, but I'm not regular about my LJ entries in any way. I've thought I should get more regular about them, but decided that before I do that I want to get a really good writing routine down for my fiction. (I'm working on a fairy-tale adaptation/fantasy novel right now.) So, first thing is first. But I pop in here from time to time, and now you're on my friends feed, so I'll see you.

Thanks for saying hi!

Your book sounds fun....is it middle grade? or YA? I look forward to hearing more about it when you start posting. Good luck with finding a routine that works for you. I'm trying to do the same....it's hard with little ones underfoot.

And I agree, I need to attend less internet!

:)
Erin (no worries...I like the name Elizabeth, too.

I've got to get through the first draft to know if it's MG or YA, but I suspect YA. I really want to write a MG book, but I don't think that this is the one. :) My protagonist is young, though. Maybe it will be tween?

I can't believe I blew your name in the first take! Sorry!!!!

No worries on the name. Really. And speaking of names, Damp. Or should I call you Ms. Scribbler? :)

I love MG and it's what I seem drawn to write the most. Although I have a couple YA ideas kicking around in my noggin'. Hopefully I can figure out how to write the first book so I can get the others out, too.

I'm begging you...please drop my name in the hat!

:)

Oh, and thank you! Whether I win or not, I think it's cool that you're willing to share your newfound wealth.

You are entered!

When they sent me the second one (I'll have to post the full story soon) they suggested that I donate one if both eventually showed up. I was looking at mine today thinking how much I like it, and I should share the other, and that I suppose I could choose a local school or arts organization or something, but I SO like my LJ buddies that I'd rather send it to one of them/you. :-)
